This calculator, the Sharp EL-377TB, 10 Digit With Punctuation, Twin Power/Glass Top Design Calculator, is small, elegant, and feels nice in one's hand. Many 8-digit calculators are bigger and bulkier.
The keys do not come up too far. Just enough for you to feel them and click them.
The keys are nicely shaped, so that fingers feel very comfortable pressing them.
When the power goes off, any memory entered into the calculator REMAINS there, until the calculator is turned on again! This feature is one hallmark of a well-built calculator! The calculator can be turned on by depressing either the "C/CE" (Clear/Clear Entry) Key, or the "CA", (Clear All), key. There is no "OFF" key, so you must leave the computer on until it shuts itself off, a good six minutes in time.
This calculator has only a three-key memory, and no arrow key -- which is a minor inconvenience, at least for me. It has a percent (%) key, but no square root key.
(Many calculators have this arrangement, which I have always thought VERY inconvenient, because percentage can always be determined this way: 20 is what percent of 100? Do: 20 divided by 100 = .20! Square root, however, is a bit more difficult to do, and should, in consequence have a key on the calculator to do this for one!
The number display is clear, but very, very light. So it's hard to see in dim light. But there are a full compliment of four screws in the back, betokening the ability to actually change the battery when needed.
So, if you really need 10 digits in a small, inexpensive calculator, this one would be it. If you need only 8 digits, and/ or can do with a slightly larger machine, look elsewhere.
